For those of you world travelers coming from outside of Vancouver... some helpful tips for getting yourself into town, and keeping busy while you’re here!
ARRIVAL:
By Air: YVR Airport is located at the south end of the city. It’s often best to take an Uber or Lyft to your destination. The airport also has rental car options on site, if a rental is your preferred but you also have the choice of taking the Skytrain - Vancouver’s transit system. You can take the Skytrain’s Canada Line directly from the airport to anywhere along Cambie Street, all the way into Downtown. It may be best to take the train all the way to Waterfront Station, and getting an uber from there.
GETTING TO THE VENUE:
The Hart House is located within Deer Lake Park, in Burnaby - Vancouver’s neighboring city. Luckily, it only takes between 30 and 45 minutes to get from Vancouver to Deer Lake Park by car. Whether in your own car, a rental, or taking an Uber, please consider the travel time when making your arrangements!
Parking is available in front of the venue!
HOTELS AND ACCOMODATIONS:
Options for accomodations in Vancouver are extensive, but not necessarily endless! Airbnb can be a great choice, but can be pricey, and/or not in an ideal location...
For those interested, we are coordinating with the
Hilton Vancouver Metrotown in Burnaby, to secure a group rate. In addition to a slightly reduced price, the Hilton in Metrotown is just a 10 minute drive away from our venue, making travel on the day a breeze!
WHAT ELSE?
Arriving early? Staying late? Both are great choices, Vancouver has so much to offer beyond our matrimony! Here’s a few suggestions of places to go, things to see, and foods to eat.
